Some more pictures from the Bridal Shower

Here are some pictures of the decorations at my Bridal Shower. My mom made everything look so nice and Katrina made some awesome decorations! My dad was so sweet that day, he went to the flower shop where we ordered the flowers for the wedding and got an amazing arrangement of all the flowers. They turned out so pretty! I can't wait to see them in all the bouquets.

My Bridal Shower

Saturday was my Bridal Shower and it was so much fun! All my friends were there and we played some great games! I got a lot of great gifts for the apartment and now I just need to find a place to put them all. Here are some pictures that my lovely bridesmaid, Lisa took. There will be some more coming soon! I also just wanted to say a special thanks to Grandma Lykins for framing our invitation with one of our engagement photos. It was beautiful! We loved it!

A lot of years together

Yesterday my mom was looking at the photo album that I made for Brandon a few years ago. It has all our dating pictures in it. As she was looking at it she said, "a lot of years together." It made me realize that after five years together we are still so in love with each other. I could not imagine my life without him! I feel so blessed to have had all these wonderful years together! Here are some pictures from the past five years. Its funny to see how much we have changed!

Just Admiring...

Today I was looking at some of my friends engagement photos which prompted me to look back at engagement photos of Brandon and me. I remember this as a wonderful day and we are so thankful to our friend Darla for taking such amazing pictures!

4 Weeks Baby, 4 Weeks!!

The title of my post is one of my favorite lines from Friends. Monica gets so excited about her wedding to Chandler being only 4 weeks away. If you know me at all, you know that Friends is my favorite show and I love that I can relate to it. Silly, I know! My wedding to Brandon is just 4 weeks away today, SO EXCITING!!! I am so happy that almost all the details are planned, the place is booked, the flowers are ordered, the music is chosen, and we met with our pastor. I can't wait to see everything put together on the day! I love every part of my wedding and I just have to remember to savor everything on the day! I don't want to forget a detail. Thanks to my amazing parents my wedding is going to be one in a million! ! !

Eternity

Yesterday Brandon and I went to look at wedding bands and we found the perfect ones! We tried on lots of different styles and looked at many cases and narrowed it down to our favorite few. Brandon was much more specific than I ever thought he'd be. He kept saying, "I'm going to wear it for the rest of my life, I want something good." He ended up getting an amazing band that he is extremely happy with. As for me, it was a little easier for me to pick one out because it had to match my gorgeous engagement ring. I definintely wanted sparkle and in the end, thats what I got! I got a beautiful band that brings out the beautiful diamonds in my engagement ring. After all the sizing was finished we left the two bands and my engagement ring there for them to work on. On my way to work today I picked them up and I was so excited! They turned out amazing and I tried mine on right away! I was also really happy to have my engagement ring back because even though they only had it for a day I really missed it. So now the bands are tucked away in their beautiful velvet boxes and we are just anxiously waiting for the day until we can place them on each others finger.

Our new home

So, Brandon and I had no luck finding a house before we got married. We could only push things so far and because of that we decided to lease an apartment for a very short time. We found a very afforable apartment in Corona that will give us the opportunity to contiune to save money. My favorite part about our new place is the washer and dryer in the apartment! It's going to be such a treat for me. We also love that we are surrounded by mostly residential so we feel its going to be very quiet. We were concerned, however, about entertainment. We took another drive around the area and it really is mostly residential. Entertainment to us is a shopping center or movie theater. I also didn't see a Target close by which bummed me out. But, we have to look at this as the best decision for us and the best way to save money.

Old Friends...

Yesterday I woke up planning to finish registering at Bed Bath and Beyond. What I didn't know was my friend, Karissa, who I haven't spoken to in awhile was planning on doing the exact same thing. She actually stopped by On The Border and we planned to meet up with each other at Bed Bath and Beyond later. Once we got our scanners we didn't waste any time trying to figure out what we needed to start our lives with our future hubby's. We had such a fun time trying to figure out our color schemes and it was really nice to have a second opinion when we started to second guess ourselves. We started getting really tired and hungry so we threw in the scanners and headed off to Pat and Oscars. We sat and talked for hours! They closed the place up and we were still talking so we moved outside. It was so nice to catch up with her and to discuss all the wedding plans we have going on. I really missed her and I'm so glad we got back in touch!

They arrived!

The invitations have arrived! My dad took a trip over to the Wedgewood Banquet Center to pick them up. While he was there he called me and said he was standing in the spot that Brandon and I are going to get married. It was the first time he had seen the place and he was thrilled with the venue. I was so happy! The invitations turned out better than we could have expected we cannot wait to send them out to our family and friends. There were also other surprises in the box as well. Our engraved champagne glasses and our personalized cocktail napkins. Seeing all this stuff has made us so much more excited to get to the day!

Some direct links

The Countdown has started

We have started counting down to September 14th! Its coming up so fast and we couldn't be more excited! We are so happy that we decided to get married at Green River Golf Course. They have been so helpful in trying to make our special day run smoothly. As invitations are being sent out there will be information regarding our wedding on our website. We are registered at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond. You can access our registry by going to the official Target website and clicking on Gift Registries. Then you click on Club Wedd and type in either of our names. To access the Bed Bath and Beyond registry, you click on Bridal and Gift Registry on the official Bed Bath and Beyond website. Feeling Good

Brandon and I got so much done today and we are feeling good! We picked out the perfect cake for our wedding. We had so much fun tasting all the different flavors and we were able to narrow it down to one. The cake has a simplicity and elegance about it. We can't wait to eat it! We also started registering and had so much fun doing it! We were both "trigger" happy :) Last but not least, we made a trip to Friar Tux and registered Brandon and all his groomsmen. We were not on the same page about the suits but I think we found one that we are both happy with. He is excited to get together with his groomsmen next Friday and Saturday and get them all fitted. We had such a good day! We are even more excited to reach our special day!

The Perfect Home

The search is on for the perfect home for me and Brandon. We are really blessed to have people in our lives that care about us enough to help us find a home. My very good friend, Melissa, took so much stress off of my shoulders. She is so positive that we will find an amazing home and it keeps us positive. We can't wait to start looking at homes and finally get into one that we love!

It's all about the Flowers

Tonight was such a relief because all the bridesmaid dresses have been ordered. Everyone around me seemed to be stressed out that they wouldn't get here in time, except for me. I have faith that everything will work out in the end. It's a reality that not everything will be perfect but at the end of the day I get to be with Brandon and that is what I look forward to! The next step for me is to find the perfect flowers for my bouquets. I have so many pictures and ideas so I know the bouquets will be just lovely. My dad actually jumped in today and said he wanted to help find some flowers. What a dad!

A Change of Heart

This morning I woke up and I felt like I had gotten the wrong shoes for my wedding. I am afraid that I am going to have to break them in at the wedding and my feet will be hurting at the end of the night. I want to be totally and completely comfortable so I think I am going to return them. I will probably go back to my original idea of white ballet flats so I can dance the night away! I also woke up happy this morning because I get to see Samantha tonight and help her pick out the perfect Bridesmaid dress. By the end of the day all the dresses will be ordered and we will just have to wait their arrival.

Monday, June 16, 2008

Today was the day that I called all my bridesmaids, except for Katrina because she was working, and told them all to purchase their bridesmaids dresses before Sunday. Then they will all arrive on September 8th, just in time for the wedding. Originally I wasn't specific on all the bridesmaids wearing the same shoes, however, I found out that certain styles of shoes would not work well on the Golf Course grass. So today I set out to find a pair of shoes that everyone will be comfortable in and I found one! I think they will work out well. Today I also found my wedding shoes which was very exciting. They were just what I was looking for and I can't wait to wear them! Overall, I feel that my shoe shopping day was a success! Here are the pictures of the three style choices that my bridesmaids got to choose from. I can't wait to see them all dressed up!

The plans are starting to roll

Our wedding plans are finally underway and I am now realizing how much detail goes into planning a wedding. Today I gave my bridesmaid, Lisa, a very important job. Lisa is my go-to music gal so I thought it would be nice if I had her help picking out our playlist for the reception. There are so many songs that I would love to hear so I'm hoping she can help me narrow it down. Brandon and I are very excited to pick out our cake on Friday! I am more excited to taste all of them! Now that we have a secured location it feels real and its very exciting! Brandon just said to me last night that he can't wait to call me his wife! So sweet!
